Dee "Newcomb" Vecchione, RDH

Dee is a 1987, AAS graduate of Camden County College in Blackwood, NJ. She was senior president of her SADHA chapter.

She has been a hygienist in general practice for 18 years. Her hygiene passions include
perio therapy, remineralization and building patient relationships.

Her favorite professional experience was attending UOR in Norfolk, VA and meeting so many of the hygienists from the e-mail list. She cites Anne Guignon as a mentor who has made a significant impact on her hygiene career. As a result of Anne's mentoring and friendship, Dee now practices with magnification loupes, writes occasional articles for RDH, and has taken Anne's Ergosonics course in Houston. Dee states, "moving to Ohio and meeting Anne has truly broadened my horizons and scope of practice. She has made such a difference in how I practice, and even encouraged me to begin writing. In the past year, I've had two articles published in RDH magazine. I'm really proud of my accomplishments and forever grateful to Anne for helping me achieve them".

Outside of hygiene, Dee enjoys hiking, biking, watching All My Children and reality tv, surfing the net, the AmyRDH e-mail list, and country music.

Pets: 2 cats (Aspen and Fern) and a chihuahua named Chico.

Personal Life: Married since 2000 to my wonderful husband, Vince. Moving back to southern NJ from two years in Ohio, in May of 2005. We're expecting our first baby on June 27th. It's a boy! We're planning on naming him Jacob (Jake).
