Debra Grant, RDH, CA continually challenges the profession of dental hygiene through her innovative company, Oraspa™, Inc., the original dentalspa, along with her motivational and inspirational messages that she brings to the dental community. Her certification in aromatherapy has allowed her to expand the scope of practice in dental hygiene.

Oraspa™ originated in 1987 to create a more pleasant experience in the dental office. Today, Oraspa™ is the only company that provides a total body wellness therapeutic treatment for patients of record during their maintenance visits.

Ms. Grant has been an active clinical periodontal therapist for 30 years. She has practiced in both Illinois and Florida. She is a past president of the Illinois Dental Hygienists’ Association and active in the American Dental Hygienists’ Association. Debra has held many leadership positions at the state, local and national level. Debra is a professional negotiator and has aided in changing the history of dental hygiene as a consultant in the affiliation of the Illinois Dental Hygienists’ Association and the American Federation of Teachers/Illinois Federation of Teachers.

Debra has been on numerous advisory boards for dental companies worldwide creating new products for the contemporary dental hygienist. In addition, Debra has been published in Contemporary Oral Hygiene and RDH magazines and a feature article on Spotlight, a publishing by the ADHA. Her appearance and interview by NBC Channel 5, Chicago brought national attention to her legislative endeavors at the Illinois’ State Capitol.

Debra’s passion is to move the dental hygiene profession forward by aiding the Access to Care crisis throughout the state, nationally and ultimately worldwide.
